The Difference
My artwork and sign designs are heavily influenced by my father, Wally Makuchal, Sr., and I believe that is responsible for bringing me a large share of his customers after he died. I have duplicated many of my dad's original hand lettered fonts that he made popular and put them in computer form. Using these fonts has kept that old fashioned hand lettered look in my designs, even though I use long term premium cast vinyl for most lettering.
I design and produce signs, vehicle lettering and other products. Even with all the heavy use of vinyl these days by most sign shops, I still rely on paint to get many jobs done. This seems to be a strong point for me in our area as it combines old methods with new to produce something unique and eye-catching. For example, I may letter a truck with vinyl but hand paint a full color picture somewhere in the design and top it off by pinstriping the vehicle with paint. I may even 'dress up' the vinyl letters with paint to further enhance eye appeal. Also, many boats are still hand painted on site. A waterman may get a crab painted on his boat next to the name while a trucker may request a popular TV cartoon character.

Whether I use paint, vinyl, or outdoor digital printing, I strive to get our customer's advertising noticed.
